Jim Gillen, E-RYT-500, brings to his yoga students a warm, supportive voice, a keen sense of humor and over 40 years of yoga experience. As the lead instructor for the Yoga Calm RYT program and yoga teacher since 1997, he has led over 7000 yoga classes and trainings for Portland Parks, Physical Therapy Associates, PSU, and Still Moving Yoga, his SW Portland studio. Jim is also an ACE (American Council on Exercise) group fitness instructor and is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Known for his lighthearted manner, community focus and strong technical skills, Jim takes his students on a yoga adventure where they rediscover the joy of a flexible, strong and healthy body. READ MORE…

 

Lynea Gillen, MS, LPC, RYT-200, is visionary in the field of wellness education for youth. From its development in a behavior classroom in a rural Oregon town in 2000, her Yoga Calm curriculum is now accredited at six colleges and universities and is being used with tens of thousands of children each day in diverse settings such as Head Start programs, urban classrooms, occupational therapy clinics, summer camps, the Mayo Clinic and Amplatz Hospital in Minnesota. Kimberly Carson, MPH, E-RYT, is a yoga therapist at OHSU and co-directs Duke Yoga for Seniors teacher training. She has studied Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Jon Kabat-Zinn and has coauthored studies using yoga and meditation for patients with chronic low-back pain, metastatic breast cancer pain, and menopausal symptoms. Benjy & Heather Wertheimer (Shantala) provide a unique elucidation and musical complement to our studies of yoga philosophy. Benjy has studied East Indian singing and philosophy over the last 30 years and is a graduate of the esteemed Ali Akbar College of Music.

 

 

Mandi Murtaugh PT, DPT, has a doctorate in physical therapy and BS in exercise science. She specializes in women’s health services for Providence Hospital and conducts trainings in core support/pelvic floor health.
