Still Moving Yoga Studio, SW Portland & Lion’s Heart Farm, Aurora Oregon
Young people have been through several difficult years. Breaks in their education from covid, strikes, weather and a daily diet of negative news and overstimulating material from social media. So what can we as parents and guardians do to counter these influences?

Digital devices will be set aside for three hours while students will connect to themselves, to each other and to nature and the larger world. This will be done through social games, yoga, relaxation, outdoor explorations and preparing and sharing beautiful snacks from the garden and local producers.
Lynea Gillen, founder of Yoga Calm for Children, licensed counselor and former classroom teacher, will lead the series bringing her years of experience helping youth build resilience, discover their gifts and build joy into daily life. (Her full bio is below).

Yoga, connection, stretching into the freedom of summer, temporary art with natural objects and a local mindful snack outside (weather permitting). Students will also choose a bonding spot on the property – a place they can connect to the silence of being outside. REGISTER BELOW
Staying Cool – In More Ways Than One! – Thursday, July 25, 9am – 12pm.
How do we keep our cool when things get hot – in the world and in ourselves. Exploring moments that explode, embarrassment, feeling things that can’t be expressed in the moment – and some cool summer treats and an opportunity to chill alone and together. REGISTER BELOW

Transitions are another hot topic for this age. There are many transitions, and it can be difficult to hang on to your needs when life is going through major transitions. We will explore how to help our bodies stay grounded when life feels like it’s changing fast. And we will say goodbye to the sessions on our land at Still Moving Yoga for the last time with some time spent in our bonding places. REGISTER BELOW

Lion’s Heart is a beautiful farm on 15 acres in Aurora (just 20 mins from SW Portland). Joanne Engerman offers a farm experience teaching the students how to make food from her garden. We will share a lunch that is prepared directly from the garden and with eggs from her garden. REGISTER BELOW
