This course is the final course in the Youth Instructor Certification Program.
We’ve designed the entire Yoga Calm Certification Program to prepare you for an uplifting professional growth experience – and success in bringing Yoga Calm into your classroom, therapy work, yoga studio or wherever you work with children. Thus, this capstone course isn’t just an opportunity to further hone your new skills. It’s also a time to celebrate all you have learned!
This course also features individualized feedback from Yoga Calm trainers and a special sessions from the program founders on how to develop your business and promote your Yoga Calm classes for children. You will also receive access to Yoga Calm’s online membership program, including hundreds of class plans, training videos, clothing discounts and your business starter kit.
And in order to meet your needs, the Capstone can be taken completely online or in-person.
The online Certification Capstone Course is designed for certification candidates working on their Yoga Calm Youth Instructor Certification who cannot easily attend — due to travel distances or cost — an in-person Certification Capstone course. Combined with the Wellness 1-3 series and the online Practicum course, this option provides the opportunity to become certified complete online or with minimal travel time and expense.
While it is hard to replace the collegial support and value of attending the Certification Capstone course in person, the online Capstone’s course design, with demonstration videos from other certified instructors and our courses, as well as personalized coaching will provide a close substitute.
The in-person Capstone course is held in either Portland, Oregon at Still Moving Yoga – a beautiful garden setting with acres of woods and hiking nearby or in St. Paul, Minnesota at Tula Yoga & Wellness. These beautiful settings provide the backdrop for an enriching weekend of yoga, practice teaching, reflection and acknowledgment.
We will start off with a delicious meal and time to get acquainted with your fellow Yoga Calm Certification candidates. Then we will break into two small groups in which you’ll be asked to lead your group in a 30-minute lesson plan based on one of the five Yoga Calm principles (Stillness, Listening, Grounding, Strength, Community). Reflection, feedback and collegial sharing processes will help create a safe yet powerful learning environment.
In addition to teaching your favorite class plans with each other, you will have the opportunity to share and receive class plans from the other candidates as well as all past certified instructors, potentially coming away from the workshop with hundreds of new plans and ideas! Wrapping up the course will individualized feedback from your trainers, and a valuable special session in how to develop and promote your Yoga Calm classes for children, including receipt of your business starter kit… and celebration of your accomplishment!
